Sponsorships

Listed below are some of the diverse sports, cultural and social collaborations undertaken in 2007:

• Caja Madrid joined its name with one of the world’s most prestigious sporting events, as a sponsor of Desafío Español 2007, the only Spanish boat competing in the 32nd Americas Cup held this year in the city of Valencia. More than 1,400 Caja Madrid customers had the chance to visit the “Desafío Español” in its base and witness the first ever classification of a Spanish yacht for the semi-finals of this historic competition, which dates back to 1851.
• The 29th Olympic Games will be held in Beijing in 2008. Caja Madrid, as a longstanding sponsor of A.D.O. (Asociación de Deportes Olímpicos) and A.D.O.P. (Asociación de Deportes Paralímpicos), has aided in the preparation of our sportsmen and women for this all-important occasion.
• Golf was again accorded pride of place in the sponsorship strategy. The 4th Caja Madrid Personal Banking Golf Circuit was held in the year, providing the opportunity for clients to enjoy a day of outdoor activity where companionship takes precedence over the day-to-day professional relationship.
• Caja Madrid has sponsored the classic fifth race at the Hipódromo de la Zarzuela since it reopened to the public. In 2007, as many as 2,600 customers attended the Madrid racetrack as our guests, with the chance to enjoy 187 races during 26 day events. Still with sports, the 4th International Paddle Tennis Masters was voted by players the second best tournament disputed worldwide.
• Caja Madrid has joined with the El Mundo daily newspaper to found the World Entrepreneurs awards, intended to identify and honour small and medium-sized firms of outstanding business excellence in the categories of innovation, international success, growth and social action.
• Business encounters were again organised in a number of Spanish provinces. These events are not only a networking opportunity for entrepreneurs, they have also won recognition for the quality of their speakers and the presence of leading figures from the world of business and politics.
• In the cultural sphere, Caja Madrid was present at the 66th edition of the Madrid Book Fair, an event whose popularity is evidenced by the approximately 3,500,000 visitors in attendance.
• For the younger public, support was lent to concerts and other musical events including "MTV Day”, “MTV Summer” and “MTV Music Week Barcelona”. Caja Madrid also continued its partnership with the Madrid Regional Government for youth cards Carnet Euro<26 and Carnet +26.

"Best financial sector idea of 2006"	For “Depósito Vivienda CMCOOL”
Oscard award 2007	For the "Aquí-Allá" card in the international payment card category
2007 Ondas award for best radio campaign	For the "Fondos soy así" campaign
"Best social values advertiser"	Granted to Caja Madrid for embedding social values in its advertising
