Leave
- Paid extraordinary leave: Up to 10 days a year in exceptional cases, with the days required duly accredited.
- Unpaid leave: Unpaid leave of up to 6 months may be granted in exceptional circumstances, where duly accredited. This entitlement is renewable every 4 years under the Collective Agreement, but every 2 years at Caja Madrid. For the duration, causes and/or motives specified in the Collective Agreement.
- Nursing leave for children under 9 months
- The one-hour leave for nursing can be replaced by:
- Paid leave of 10 calendar days (to be taken immediately after maternity leave) plus another 5 working days during the baby’s first year.
- The equivalent full days' entitlement as stipulated in the Collective Agreement or arranged with the company.
- In the case of 2 children: the hour available for nursing can be replaced by paid leave of 20 calendar days + 10 working days, or with 3 or more children, 25 calendar days + 15 working days.
- The same entitlement is extended to the parents of adopted children up to the age of 10, to be effective during the first year the minor is living in his or her adopted home.
- Leave for hospitalised children under age 14. Leave entitlement of up to 15 calendar days per year for the care of children under 14 spending time in hospital. If hospitalisation takes place during maternity leave, these 15 days can be added onto maternity and/or nursing entitlement.
- Leave for death or illness among family members related up to the second degree. Caja Madrid again improves on the statutory entitlement by extending such leave to (accredited) cohabiting couples.
