Support to SMEs
This support is channelled through agreements with the government authorities, whereby Caja Madrid seeks to foster the development of the small firms sector and contribute to the growth of Spain’s entrepreneurial fabric.
These include:
Collaboration agreement with the Madrid Regional Government’s Young Entrepreneurs Association and mutual guarantee company Avalmadrid S.G.R.
This scheme to fund the business projects of young Madrid Region entrepreneurs was renewed in the year. Borrowers now get an even better deal, including a higher ceiling amount and greater facilities.
ICO Enterprise Promotion Credit Line
A keynote initiative to channel finance under preferential conditions to small and medium-size businesses, with the sole objective of favouring their development and growth. The Caja Madrid Group has positioned itself more strongly in this product, with double the number of borrowers of the previous year.
Agreement with Avalmadrid
For business financing, with special conditions for immigrants, new-start companies and collectives at risk of social exclusion
Agreement with Avalmadrid Autónomos de la Comunidad de Madrid
Over 750 transactions summing more than €90 million have been closed under this scheme to boost the productive economy of the Madrid region by facilitating loans to independent contractors.
Agreement with Avalmadrid Emprendedores y Empresarias
To help female entrepreneurs set up their first business and thereby further women's labour-market insertion.
Agreement with the Castilla-La Mancha Finance Institute to fund business initiatives in the region.
Agreement with mutual guarantee companies Elkargi (Basque Country), AVALIS (Catalonia), SOGAPYME (Canary Islands) and UNDEMUR (Murcia), and the MGC of the Valencia Region
For the issuing of guarantees under preferential conditions to enable small firms to obtain Caja Madrid financing.
Participation in Fundetec
Aimed at encouraging take-up of new information technologies among businesses and self-employed professionals.
CEIM agreement
Low-interest loans to finance the development of the Madrid Region productive sector, in partnership with the Madrid Chamber of Commerce.
Agreement with I.D.A.E
underwrite loans related to renewable energies.
Agreement with Audiovisual SGR to finance film projects.
Financing of disabled organisation ONCE, granted a €30 million loan in 2004 which was raised to €60 million in 2005 and renewed in 2006 up to 2009. On 27/04/2007 a €30 million structured loan package was arranged for the same organisation, with a five-year maturity, lifting the outstanding balance to €90 million
This loan is ring-fenced for the association’s social action programme, with a significant part going on the acquisition of data phones for its members.
A €20 million credit line and €10 million guarantee facility opened in December in the name of the FUNDOSA group (holding company of Fundación ONCE)
Companies in this group operate a hiring policy in favour of disabled workers.
