CSR criteria with suppliers
The idea
Caja Madrid operates a supplier selection, rating, approval and management system so it can choose from those compliant with the Organisation’s sustainability criteria, and thus cascade its CSR policy along the value chain.
Excellence in stakeholder relations can only be attained through efficient, responsible processes. And one means to this end is to build up a portfolio of suppliers committed to service quality and Social Responsibility.
Results
Caja Madrid has issued all its main suppliers with an evaluation questionnaire that enquires into their human rights record, quality and environmental certificates and other corporate social responsibility indicators. To date, 179 suppliers have been rated using this methodology.
