The Caja Madrid Group is made up of 47 subsidiary companies which engage in activities supplementing those of the parent in the areas of business development and promotion, investment management, finance and diverse other services.

The Group carried out major new corporate operations in 2008, highlighted by the implementation of the shareholding reorganisation agreement between Mapfre and Caja Madrid, formation of Caja Madrid Cibeles and the acquisition of a controlling interest in City National Bank of Florida in the United States.

Caja Madrid Cibeles which pools together the Group's investments in financial service firms that operate in a diverse array of business lines: financial asset management and intermediation, private banking, insurance and specialised consumer finance. Cibeles is also the vehicle for Caja Madrid’s international expansion.

The holding company Corporación Financiera Caja Madrid is a key piece in Caja Madrid’s strategy to diversify its business and investments beyond the pure financial arena. Its activities span the following sectors: infrastructure, energy and technology, manufacturing, tourism, health and elderly care, leisure, food, venture capital, finance and real estate.
