Guiding principles
The Caja Madrid Bylaws lay down the principles to be followed by the members of its governing bodies in the pursuit of their duties, which should
be conducted:

- Solely for the benefit of Caja Madrid and its social and cultural agenda.
- With full independence from the organisations or groups that elected or appointed them, which may not instruct them as to how to perform their functions. They shall answer only to the governing body they belong to and, ultimately, to the General Assembly.
- Respecting the duty of secrecy with regard to any confidential information received in the exercise of their duties.
As prescribed by current legislation, Caja Madrid has drawn Internal Rules of Conduct for securities exchange activities. These rules apply integrally
to all members of the Board of Directors, the Control Committee and the Management Committee. Their purpose is to avert conflicts of interest and to prevent the improper use or disclosure of inside information possessed by members of the Caja Madrid governing bodies.
