The CSR work group has relied on the following initiatives to detect sustainability trends and the key issues that matter most to stakeholders:

Participation in the Green Paper on savings banks

The sector CSR committee, in which Caja Madrid is an active member, set up a group of experts including representatives from Caja Madrid to conduct a sweeping prospective study of savings banks and sustainability. The analysis examined the current situation and possible future scenarios, pinpointing the key topics and exchanging ideas on the role of the financial sector and its contribution to social responsibility.

Internal study

Further to the materiality study conducted in 2007, the main CSR leaders in finance and other sectors were studied, along with authoritative sector and industry opinion makers, with a focus on the main questions of concern to the different organisations.

Specific studies

Other input to the Group's CSR policy making process include studies carried out by members of the organisations working group through the “social demand observatory” and the “economic-financial observer”.
