Distribution by pay levels

Caja Madrid is aware that employees must feel their efforts and commitment are adequately rewarded, so has set a standard minimum entry-level salary of €1476.12 per month, plus incentives and other benefits and deferred compensation. This compares favourably with the local legal minimum monthly pay of €600 for 2008.

The Group's equal opportunities policy mandates that there be no gender discrimination in base salaries, as borne out in the next table, which offers a breakdown of the workforce by gender and salary per job category:
