Security in ATMs
The following security-enhancement features have been incorporated into Caja Madrid automated teller machines:
- Lighting devices that clearly signal the card insert slot.
- Secure keypad entry system that destroys the code entered if the keypad is manipulated.
- Privacy screens that provide no lateral visibility, so that only the customer standing directly in front of the screen can see the information.
- Sensors for the detection of possible card-copying devices.
- Customers are prompted to re-enter their personal code at the final stage of cash withdrawals.
- Data control mechanisms, so each time a card is used its numbering is changed, to avoid copies of the magnetic strip.
- SMS message alerts to confirming card transactions or alerting to suspected fraudulent use.
- Video recording cameras at all cash point.
- Sensor and alarm control of front-door opening.
- "My favourite operations" submenu option on main ATM menu for faster error-free use.
