Profile and scope of the report

The information provided in this report covers the activities carried on in 2008 by the Caja Madrid Group, as the Group is defined in the annual report (note 1.1), with the exception of those indicators for which some other perimeter is specified. Supplementary information is available in the Caja Madrid Annual Report, and in the annual reports of Obra Social Caja Madrid and Fundación Caja Madrid and in the Corporate Governance Report.

Released annually since 2004, one of the aims of this report is to open up an additional communication channel with our stakeholder groups (as identified in the chapter on SR and Caja Madrid) that they can use to learn more about Caja Madrid’s activities and aims.

Its structure is based on the G3 Guidelines of Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the "Financial Services Sector Supplements".

The data measurement techniques and calculation methods, and all estimates applied, are explained in the tables or chapters where they appear whenever clarification seems warranted for ease of understanding.
