Fundación Caja Madrid calls the 13TH edition of post-graduate scholarships abroad

The Fundación Caja Madrid opens starting today 22 November 2011 a new call for the performance of studies of postgraduate course (master's degree, PhD or research works) in Universities and Centres Superiors of Investigation of Europe (except Spain), the United States and Canada for the academic course 2012-2013.

The Fellowship program of Postgraduate course in the Foreigner of the Fundación Caja Madrid fulfills thirteen years from its start-up in the course 1999/2000. Become one of the more significant of the Spanish outlook in its field, the programme will do possible that, at the close of the academic course 2012/2013, 877 entitled superiors have been able to specialise and to form thanks to these grants.

The investment made in this call it exceeds the 3,000,000 of euros and from the creation of the programme, the Fundación Caja Madrid has contributed to Post-graduate scholarships in the Foreigner a total of 50,000,000 of euros.

Studies of postgraduate course are made in the most significant universities and superior educational institutions of Europe (except Spain), the United States and Canada. In previous calls, the chosen main training establishments have been Columbia, Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Mount Sinai, Cambridge, Oxford, London Business School, London School of Economics, INSEAD, Imperial College, University of Montpellier, University of Lovaina, Superior National Conservatory of Music and It dances of Paris, among others.

The number of offered grants by Fundación Caja Madrid ascends in this call to 40. Applicants should be in possession of the Spanish nationality and of a superior title issued by a Spanish university or, where applicable, approved by the Ministry of Education Spanish. Criteria for selecting will consider the academic merits of the candidate, the interest of the research project or studies, the professional experience and the level of languages. For this call, areas of knowledge for those which are granted these grants are: Social and Legal (Economy, Political Science, Sociology, Law), Bio-sanitary (Biology, Medicine, Drugstore, Vet), Polytechnic (Engineering, Computer science, Architecture), Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) and Music.

Between 9 and 12 months, with a monthly allocation of until 1,500 euros

The contribution of Fundación Caja Madrid will include from the whole payment of the registration in the training establishment of postgraduate course chosen until a monthly allocation that it varies of amount according to the destination: 1,500 euros a month for placements in the United States, The United Kingdom and Canada, 1,400 euros for placements in France and Switzerland and 1,200 euros for the rest of European destinations. These amounts will be distributed in a maximum period of 12 months and 9 of minimum.

In addition, the resource includes a holdall set aside for to cover travelling expenses: 360 euros in the case of destinations in Europe and 1,450 euros for the United States and Canada. To these concepts it is necessary to sum an only resource, common to all squares, of 1,000 euros for expenses of facility.

Fundación Caja Madrid's grant holders, from the Whole of Spain and whose average age round 28 years, answer to the profile of a student with excellent academic ratings and with a project of postgraduate course perfectly defined, in which demonstrates the maturity, the knowledge of languages, the initiative and the professional experience or investigator.

Approximately 48% of grant holders by the Fundación Caja Madrid has as a country of destination the United States, 32% The United Kingdom and 20% the rest of European countries and Canada.
